Caron Kotalik was born in Niagara Falls, New York. She holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Prescott College and has completed several programs at Rudolf Steiner College, including Foundations of Anthroposophy and Waldorf Teacher Education Certification in Grades. She worked as a field biologist in Cape Cod and has extensive experience as an environmental educator throughout the Western United States, teaching students ranging in ages from elementary school to college.
Caron first fell in love with the Pacific Northwest on a kayaking trip around Orcas Island, and she settled in Seattle after exploring much of the United States and Europe. She possesses a deep passion for ecology and natural history, which drives her to explore the natural world whenever she can on extended backpacking, kayaking and cross-country skiing trips.
