BWWS Community Fund 2019-2020
Sparking Ingenuity

Like independent schools across the country, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Bright Water Waldorf School education. We rely on community-wide fundraising each year to support our everyday operating costs, including faculty compensation, classroom materials, financial aid, campus maintenance and much more- everything that makes our school so special. By directly supporting our operating budget, your gift supports every student and every faculty member, every day.

Though it is not required, we expect all parents to participate in this critical community-wide effort. Remember, no gift is too small and every gift truly counts.

This fall, we aim to raise $90,000 by November 22 with 100% parent participation. We are grateful to many grandparents, alumni families, and friends who also made generous annual contributions to our school.

On behalf of all our students who will benefit from your generosity, we thank you in advance for your support.

Annual gifts from families, friends of Bright Water Waldorf School, trustees, faculty, staff, and alumni help make up the difference between tuition income and the cost of the Bright Water Waldorf School experience. These unrestricted contributions give our school the ability to use the funds where they are needed the most, be it for tuition assistance, professional development, curriculum supplies, or campus improvements.

Special Events

Spring Gala and Auction. The Gala: A Party with a Purpose

Each spring, we invite our community to come together to celebrate our students and raise critical funds to support our unique educational program. This festive evening features an auction, seated dinner, and the opportunity to socialize with friends, faculty, and staff. Widespread participation makes this special event a success. Save the date to join us on March 27!

Sugar Plum Faire & May Faire. These festive, community-building events also raise funds to support grade-level overnights and field trips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not increase tuition to cover the school’s cost so we don’t have to fundraise?

Tuition income covers 80-90% of our school’s expenses. The Bright Water Waldorf School Community Fund makes a truly special and rich Waldorf experience possible. As part of our school community’s commitment to inclusiveness and diversity, fundraising is required to maintain tuition that is affordable and accessible.

I can’t make a large gift. Should I give anyway?

YES! Our goal is 100% participation from every family, faculty/staff member and trustee! Every gift – no matter the size – makes a difference.

Can I pledge now and pay later?

YES! Gifts can be paid over time or scheduled for a later date. Paying your pledge over time is a way to stretch your donation – $25 a month over 10 months is $250; $100 pledged over 10 months is $1000, $500 a month over 10 months is $5000. Pledge payments are due by the end of our fiscal year, July 31, 2020.

Is my donation eligible for employer/corporate matching?

Corporate matching is a great way to give and can easily double, sometimes triple, your contribution. Check with the Human Resources office at your place of work. BWWS is a 501(C)3 non-profit and is eligible for matching gifts. Bright Water Waldorf School’s Tax Identification Number is: 91-1897098
