Haley Kruell, Grade Two Teacher

Haley Kruell was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but spent the majority of her childhood in Portland, Oregon. She received her BA in Humanities for Teaching from Seattle University, in the process completing two internships at BWWS with Cindy Jordan’s class in 2013 and 2015. She went on to earn a Masters in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University and accepted the first grade position at BWWS in 2016. Haley has had numerous student-teaching experiences in private and public schools in Seattle, Baltimore, and Connecticut, and is currently pursuing her Waldorf teacher training.

As a child, Haley attended the Portland Waldorf School from early childhood through grade eight, and the Waldorf approach to teaching has always lived in and inspired her in her own teaching.

Haley enjoys cooking and baking on the weekends, and will go running even in the Seattle rain—a habit she picked up in college. She can also be found exploring the city in her free time.
