AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

After School Care

At Bright Water we understand the need working families have for extended day care for their child(ren), and we also believe in providing our students with enriching extracurricular activities that strengthen our sense of community and deepen friendships.

To that end, Bright Water is committed to offering after school care Monday through Friday when school is in session throughout the academic school year. After school care hours are 3:15-5:15pm. Students are provided with supervised play and activities along with a wholesome and nourishing snack.

Parents are able to sign up their child for the full week, specific days, or even the occasional drop in.
Rate: $20/day or $100/week; if you intend to enroll your child in regularly occurring After School Care, a $100 deposit is required.

Please contact the Main Office to enroll your child.

After School Clubs

ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB

Our Ultimate club is open to 5th through 8th graders and is an excellent source of physical and mental exercise, learning integrity, and strengthening teamwork. There is no membership fee for joining the club and participating in practice; however, there will most likely be fees for when we join the DiscNW league in the spring and/or participate in tournaments.

Practices are held on Thursdays from 3:15-4:45pm at the upper playfield at Judkins Park. A Parent volunteer and former National Ultimate player and BWWS alum are coaching our club team.

ART CLUB

Art Club is a free after school offering that is open for 4th through 8th graders. Advised by two parent volunteers who are also both educators, Art Club explores artistic expressions through a variety of mediums.

Art Club meets on Wednesdays from 3:10-4:10pm in the Early Childhood Community Room.

MAGIC THE GATHERING CLUB

Magic the Gathering Club is a free after school offering 5th through 8th graders. Magic the Gathering is a card-based role playing game that supports developing math and vocabulary skills, along with reading and comprehension.

Advised by BWWS Faculty Shawn Sensei, Magic the Gathering Club meets after school on Fridays from 3:00-6:00pm.

Disclaimer: Magic The Gathering is not to be played during school hours.

ORIENTEERING CLUB

Orienteering provides adventurous fun in the outdoors and is a great place to meet new friends, sharpen thinking skills, and offers a variety of physical and mental health benefits to boot! This club is for fourth graders and up and is advised by BWWS’ Melissa Lytle.

Those interested will need to sign up your student(s) through Cascade Orienteering Club. This is the host organization that puts on all the weekend events. Please click here to go to the WIOL signup page. The membership fee for youth under 18 is $5, while the event fees will vary. However, you will receive a $5 discount as a member for any event you sign up for.

NOTE: This club takes place on weekends at a variety of locations throughout the greater Seattle area.
